I love the vinyl curtain, looks pretty.

The telephone footage is well amusing, i would not mind doing something like that for Hoadleys class.

Innovator or just as lost and useless as *some* of the stuff at Sonicacts XII? Well it is “lost music” but I don’t quite like modern art when it doesn’t go anywhere or take me any place, most of his material is interesting.. but only for a few moments, then I get bored. I hope he doesn’t actually get paid to do that because I would expect a scientist too or an artistic innovator to be paid for this kind of works, not someone who seems like a educated kid, scratching a record for art.

Sonicacts XII really opened my mind to what is “art” and what is innovative. Sorry if I seem harsh, I wont change! lol

Well is anything we do actually useful?

Were not changing the world here, were just trying stuff out. I think Marclay’s film brings home the idea of what art can be i guess, or what some people may perceive as art. So art does not have to be scientific or artistic like Leonardo Da Vinci.

Simply put, art is the activity of making things. And one should only make things that seem to be relevant, at least, to oneself…

Why don’t you guys see if you can apply anything from what he does? That’s the real issue for us. I don’t think he is a genius, but I do find his work interesting as sound art. In the end, it doesn’t move me much but it piques my curiosity so there must be something there…
