- do you think blogging has helped your learning process?

Being able to see others work whether it be for inspiration, criticism or just to help you in the right direction is a great help. Articles are good for seeking specific knowledge or just something great to look into and learn whilst your eating your dinner. The feedback from others helps and is encouraging.

- Are there any advantages to putting your work online?

The feedback and the feeling of 'oneness' with your peers.

- Are there any disadvantages?

Possible taking of ideas but the boundary between taking ideas and getting inspiration from them is a hard line to draw. I haven't seen anything like this in my experience here, the work has been really varied.

- Is it easier to access the information you need if it is on a blog such as my juliocmt blog?

Yes and the blog has been well updated although sometimes the links between subjects and the articles seem a little unorganised and random. Doesn;t really matter though cos its all good reading.

- What features or improvements would you like to see in future deliveries of this module?

As far as the blogging goes, a quicker website and a more malleable site to set out your blog.

- do you think blogging has helped your learning process?

Blogging can be a good way to review your work at it’s different stages. If you have spent a lot of time on some work but not finished it and upload it I find I go back and review what I have done more than I would do if I wasn’t blogging. Also It might mean you mix down the project before it’s finished to review it rather than running you project on the programme you are using, I find this helps my decide what I need to do next.

- Are there any advantages to putting your work online?

Other peoples thoughts can be very helpful, especially whilst still working on project as someone who hasn’t had there head in your work for days may be able to spot something that it really obvious when looking at the work for the first time. We cannot see our work for the first time ever so I think this is a very useful to have other people’s first impressions.

- Are there any disadvantages?

I can’t think of any

- Is it easier to access the information you need if it is on a blog such as my juliocmt blog?

Yes, as I will always know where to go online to find updates, no time wasted scrolling through pages to find what you want, nice and simple

- What features or improvements would you like to see in future deliveries of this module?

Personally I would prefer it if we were marked on all our tasks opposed to just 3, I don’t know if this would work in my favour as far as marks are concerned but I would like to see how I faired on the tasks which I struggled with more than others. Having said this I’m sure marking ever task everyone did on the module would take up a lot more time.

1. Blogging has assisted my learning by being a arena for feedback from friends and peers (often not without first asking for feedback).

2. I think that the main advantage of having your work online is that many people, not just your direct peers can view and comment on your work. This gives you a wider field of opinion when it comes to feedback and you have a large amount of control over your comments during all stages of your work.

3. Privacy would be a concern, but not a disadvantage. As above, you have full control over the contents for your blog, including comments.

4. Yes, I feel that blogging, or a forum based systems (apart from the poor design and over-encumbering feel of WebCT) are perfect. There are many similar arts networking channels across the internet that provide individual student daily updated multimedia blogs, for pre and post production material.

5. It would be nice to see a re-launch of webct into a more coherent system as above. With a larger capacity of forums, individual blogging, personalized portfolio website and all with more focus on the student. This plus a front page website a with larger integration with other arts, film and media students from our uni so feedback and comments are more actively encouraged (by having a front page website, showing updated blogs) and more widely appreciated.

1. i think the blogging system is a great way of commuicating with each other, and makes showing each other work fantastically simple. i think it has helped my learning because of this.
2. the advantages of having my work online is that i can show it to anyone, anywhere anytime.
3. disadvantages; as naomi said, privacy, although this is easily overcome by passwording work/posts
4. accessing information is certainly easier when its been posted on the blog. i have subscribed to your posts and found this highly useful.
5. for improvements on the module, overall i have learned a lot, and have thoroughly enjoyed the module. i think more lecture time wouldn't be a bad idea, sometimes i have felt i haven't had enough time in class, being taught how to use jitter for example (i appreciate the idea is self learning, but 2 more hours a week would have been awesome!)

1. I think that the blogging has helped my learning process as it means when i get home i can look at the blog to see lecture notes and go over work, also it is good to ask questions and get a response quite quickly.
2. The advantages of putting my work online is that people can give feedback, from anywhere in the world, to help improve work therefore helping me improve on my work. Also it is good to have an online portfolio for future jobs ect.
3. The disadvantages of the blog are that there might be a privacy problem, in that people might be able to read comments you didn't want them too. This is the only disadvantage i can think of at the moment...
4. I think information is easy to access, if you know where to look, i think possibly it could be a little clearer having the module pages at the top of the page rather than at the bottom, as it takes a while to scroll down and look for the links, for example having the music for digital media link at the top of the blog.
5. For improvements on the module i think that there could be more timetabling organization as it was a bit confusing with which lecture your in.

Hope this is enough.
